Some suggestions for your luggage.

More and more often, at check-in, we encounter groups of people, crew members, who are on their first sailing or catamaran vacation and invariably show up with an unspecified but significant number of large, hard-sided suitcases. No hard-sided suitcases! This is the first, fundamental tip for a sailing vacation!

Especially on a sailing boat, space is limited and it's impossible to stow them in the cabin. Consequently, you'd find yourself with bulky items bouncing around all over the place, unable to find a place to store them.

If you absolutely must bring this type of suitcase, the solution is to empty them, place all your clothing in the appropriate lockers, and leave the empty suitcases in our office for the entire duration of your cruise.

When you return on Friday afternoon, they will be ready to be reassembled.

If you're about to embark on your sailing vacation and are about to pack, remember that you'll need very little.

For a week-long cruise, the following items may be sufficient:

2 swimsuits, T-shirts, shorts, 1 pair of long pants, 1 sweatshirt, 1 beach towel, hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, 1 pair of flip-flops, 1 pair of white-soled boat shoes, and sneakers. Don't forget your cell phone chargers.

You won't need much else.
